Thanksgiving

24 11 2011

We’re gearing up for Thanksgiving, although here in Germany it’s not a day off and therefore we have to wait until Saturday to have our feast. But we plan on having all of the traditional dishes – pumpkin pie, roast turkey, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, cranberry relish. I may even make crescent rolls, just like at home. The only thing you can’t get here is canned cranberry jelly, which is a bummer, because I really love that stuff.

We’ve invited several people so I think we’ll have to move our dining room table out into the living room and bring down some extra chairs from the attic. I am really looking forward to it!

We’re buying our Christmas tree on Friday this week. So the tree may actually be in the corner of the room during Thanksgiving dinner, but we plan on decorating it on Sunday. Can’t wait to put up all the Christmas decorations that I’ve been making and planning for so long now! (Since the end of October, in all honesty!)

Time is going by far too quickly!

So for now, as all of you in the States are probably having a nice day off with your family, I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!
