Our flight got in late last night, and today it was back to work – but only a half day, which is good to ease back in to the swing of things.
Vacation was great. It was really great to get away from it all and just relax. Although snowboarding was not relaxing, really, but it was a lot of fun and I made a little more progress.
We stayed in the same little guest house as last time, in the same room, even! It was great – we had the house to ourselves (there were no other guests at the time) and it was just nice. We did the whole Benjamin Franklin thing (early to bed, early to rise) and it was definitely a nice change to our normal sleeping situation, what with our apartment being near the train station with its bright lights that shine throughout the night and the loud noises from the trains going by. In our little guest house in a small, auto-free mountain village called Braunwald, it was pitch black at night and as silent as could be until the birds started singing in the morning. (Except we kept getting woken up by the house owner’s alarm clock at 5 a.m.! Farmers!)
I have a lot more to tell and definitely a lot of photos to share. But for now, just a picture of my honey and I on the gondola.
It was a lovely time. I’m sad it’s over! I’ll just have to relive the memories in the next few posts as I look through my pictures! 🙂
