Baltimore

I just spent a wonderful weekend with Laura.  She’s my best friend from college and we were also roommates senior year with two other great friends.

It was so exciting to be reunited and do all sorts of fun things together over the weekend: going out to eat at Paper Moon Diner and Miss Shirley’s, going thrift shopping and browsing at other clothing stores, going duckpin bowling with some friends, and dancing a lot just like old times.

Surprise, surprise…I made another video!  We went to this awesome place in Baltimore called Patterson Bowl, which is only 6 lanes (so you need reservations).  One unique part is that you can BYOB.

World Cup final

On Sunday, Laura and I went to an outdoor festival at the Baltimore Harbor to watch the Spain vs. Netherlands game.  Though I was rooting for the Netherlands, I wasn’t too sad they lost because Paul had predicted it anyway, and I kind of expected him to be right.  It was extremely hot, and the sun was very bright, and I wasn’t exactly dressed for the weather in dark jeans and a black tank top…talk about heat absorption!  But we cooled down a bit with a canned pint of beer and made sure to put on sunscreen regularly.

The annoying thing was that the sun kept blacking out the screen so that we missed at least 30 minutes of the game during different intervals.  The sun was just so bright that the screen couldn’t keep up, and sometimes it was completely black.  We didn’t miss anything too important, though, except the Dutch player who got his 2nd yellow card and was kicked out; at least we still got the audio.

Though we were very exhausted afterward from the heat, we really had a nice time and it was fun to attend the festival together.

@ blogtorres – Thank you for your comment! Yes…even though I was rooting for the Netherlands, that one goal Spain scored was pretty sweet! They did a great job.
